We offer several inventory and appraisal packages to meet every family’s needs and will stand by you to provide claim documentation if you should ever need it.
Our appraisal staff is comprised of certified members of the International Society of Appraisers, the American Society of Appraisers, and the American Association of Appraisers. Regardless of the Package you choose, you can expect the same high level of unbiased, USPAP-compliant1 appraisal work on each of your personal property assets. 3D HomeScan is the insurance-approved solution to meet the documentation requirements of your insurance carrier. In case of a loss, your broker will require proof of ownership and value, and sadly, most homeowners won’t have a record. This is the easiest way to inventory your entire home and optionally appraise specific items. It is also the quickest of our services, and extremely economical, because the entire process can be completed in just a few hours by a single 3D camera operator.
This cutting-edge process produces an interactive 3D video so detailed, you can actually tag individual high-value assets, record descriptions and exact measurements, and order certified, insurance-approved appraisals right from the video. Use the appraisals to create or add to an existing Valuable Articles Coverage policy. If you choose to wait, your video can be used after a loss to reconstruct your inventory and order appraisals to attach to your insurance claim.
For clients who wish to have their entire home cataloged and appraised, this is your Package. By far our most popular service, the All-Inclusive Package provides you with multiple digital reports. These include a room-by-room detailed inventory of all items accompanied by high-quality images, individual appraisals, a summary appraisal report and inventory spreadsheet. We also calculate the aggregate value of your entire inventory, and because of our independent status, provide homeowners insurance comparisons. You’ll also receive a list of all your appraised assets worth $2500 or more which you can take to your insurance broker for scheduling on a Valuable Articles Coverage policy. Custom reports are also available.
The square footage of your residence is the primary factor in determining the cost of this package, not an ambiguous hourly rate. In our experience, our clients’ one-time investment for AVI’s All-Inclusive Package averages less than 1% of the value of their uninsured personal property assets.

For a flat fee, a professional Inventory Specialist will come into your home and 1) digitally capture the contents of each room in your home and 2) individually inventory and appraise up to 40 items of your choice. Each item will be appraised using the same USPAP-compliant1 procedures as in our All-Inclusive Package. After 40 items, there will be a per-item fee to appraise each additional asset.
The centerpiece of your report is a detailed appraisal report with high-quality digital images and descriptions for each item appraised. This report can be used to update your homeowners insurance and to schedule Valuable Article Coverage on appraised items, for estate planning or distribution, or for charitable giving.

In 2011, we hired AVI to inventory and appraise the personal property located at our main residence and ranch. We were very pleased with the comprehensiveness of their report and recommendations. Eight years later, in the fall of 2019, our ranch was destroyed by fire. No one ever expects this will happen but because we were clients of AVI and they maintained our records as promised, they were able to update the values of destroyed items at the ranch to reflect “current replacement value-new”. With this information we were able to provide our insurance carrier with all the information they needed to file a timely and accurate insurance claim.
The cost of AVI’s initial services was not insignificant but it was fair and reasonable for the work they performed.
