You’ll need to provide basic information about the item, including its title, dimensions, a detailed description, and up to 5 clear images. The description and images should include the item’s condition, identifying marks or numbers, defects, and other details that may help establish exactly what it is.
You’ll also select the type of appraisal you need—Replacement Value, Opinion of Value, or Donation Value.
Appraise My Stuff is designed for many types of personal property, but some categories cannot be appraised online, including jewelry and watches, coins, stamps, and collector cards such as baseball or Pokemon cards.
If you’re unsure whether your item is appropriate for an online appraisal, you can contact AVI before submitting it.
An online appraisal relies on the photographs and information you provide. Some types of property require in-person examination, specialized expertise, or additional documentation that cannot be adequately established through photographs alone.
For that reason, AVI does not appraise certain categories through Appraise My Stuff, including jewelry, watches, coins, stamps, and collector cards.

The first photograph should show the entire item and will be the primary image on the appraisal report. Additional photographs should show important identifying details such as an artist’s signature, manufacturer’s plate, identifying number, substantial wear or damage, or unusual markings.
For the clearest results, AVI recommends using a neutral background and avoiding reflections or blurry images.
